1973 Barbados 2 Dollar Coin

Well, here’s one you don’t find everyday.  As you know I have been trying the NEL Big coil out in areas where I have hunted before.  It’s been pretty stellar.

Today I have about 1.5 hours to hunt a place that has been very good to me.  I have spent a lot of time in this place.  I have gridded almost the entire place out, which is fairly large.  In the hot zones, I have gridded in multiple directions many times.  In fact, I have probably pounded this particular rectangular areas like 20 times.  Each time I have been very methodic.

Well, I decided to hunt this spot.  I was moving along, trying to avoid the guy who was mowing, and hit an absolutely screaming signal at about 2 inches.  I thought, what the heck, I’ll dig it.  To my absolute surprise, I pulled out a 1973 Barbados 2 dollar coin.  How in the world did this coin end up in Cincinnati?

Next I moved over to the area I have absolutely pounded in the past.  I quickly got a faint tone that was bouncing into the 70s.  I dug down.  Then I dug down some more.  And I pulled out a 1918 D mercury dime.  I didn’t know this until I got home as it was encrusted.  I was floored to get a silver in this area.  The NEL Big continues to amaze!

Next I moved over toward a backstop area and got a 1947 D wheatie.  I can’t wait to get back out!
